...hi

Hi guys! Sorry it's been so long. You know that feeling where you know you should do something and even want to do it, but just keep putting it off? That's been me with blogging this summer.

So, I moved home for summer, member? Yeah that was fun. It was a good summer. My best friend got married, and I've never been happier for her. I went on lots of fun random trips. I made lots of money and well.. blew it on clothes and other fun things. I laughed a lot lot lot. It was a fun summer and I didn't really ever want it to end in a sense. I think that is why I decided to stay and go to Dixie.  It's so easy to live at home. Call me lame and lazy, but I like spending my money on things that make me happy. I like to not buy my own groceries. I also like to be around my family (most the time). Those are all things that I missed lots living up north. So, I figured.. hey I'll just stay here in little St. George, Utah and continue having fun and being carefree-ish. I decided I would most likely stay here till I get my associates (so about a year) then transfer somewhere different for my bachelors.

Alexis Jordan Larsen, Official Dixie State Student
Blah, blah, blah... school started. I honestly was excited. A new school. New people. New ward. New me (haha just kidding.. had to throw it in because it sounded sooo cheesy in my mind). So there I went. My first day at Dixie State College. Home of the Rebels.. oh shiz.. I mean the RED STORM (gag me 40 times). Got my little back packy on and was ready for an adventure. Let's just say 5 classes later I was in my champagne corolla (cause champagne is cuter sounding than gold), headed back up to UVU....
Oh wait.. I wish.

So sometimes I over-exaggerate and like to joke, okay? So pretty much I just realized how different Dixie is going to be compared to UVU. Like I said in my older posts, UVU was so different compared to what I was used to my whole life. AND I LOVED IT. I like diversity. I like people speaking out and disagreeing. And people like.. well.. TALK at UVU. They say hi to each other. And even smile sometimes. Call me crazy but I expected to make at least one.. maybe even two friends in my classes my first day at Dixie? Not even friends.. like maybe just someone to say a little.. "hello" or even a like head bob/nod whats up kinda thingy? Yeah well that didn't happen. Well, I did have one homie from LA (literally) shout out a little.. "MMM girl I like wuts yewsss got goin on". But other than that.. well that was it.

And honestly, since school started about 3 weeks ago.. it hasn't gotten much better. Thank goodness I already have friends here. I know attitude is everything... but it just drains you to walk around with this awesome attitude.. when you are feeling the complete opposite. There I go with exaggerating again. It's not even that bad. I am so blessed to be going to college. I am blessed to be living in a nice house, full of food and dish soap. There is even a cute mommy inside that house that does my laundry for me. Like wow.. right? Right.

A few of my classes are challenging. Which I haven't been the happiest about. But it just dawned on me. HARD CLASSES ARE AWESOME. Haha... okay only to an extent. Here's my view. Why go to college to learn things you already knew? So if a class is challenging, that means you will learn even more in it. Cash-money turning to knowledge right before your own little eyes.

Now What?
I'll tell you what. I'm gonna keep trudging along. How depressing is the word trudging? How about.. I'm gonna keep skipping along. Who knows how much longer I'll be in this town, but time will tell. And I'm gonna stop being a depressing beezy, and start trying to be that hello or head nod/bob (Joke, I would never nod nor bob) that I was hoping to see at school. Dixie might not change. These little Red Stormers (honestly, how do you even use that like understandably?) might keep being their shy little selves all semester, but I don't care. I'm gonna keep speaking up and dressing the way I do. Judge away, Dixie State. But you will not turn me into one of your little blinged out pocket-ed robots.

And let's just say I do have a few little things to look forward to within the next couple months... More to come my friends. Stay posted.

Can I just say.. If you read this whole thing, you have a special little place in my heart. Like literally. Cause that was kinda a lot to take in.

Lovessss my friends,
LL

bye bye freshman year and 312

It's over. I am officially a sophomore in college now! And its CRAZY to me. Wednesday I finished finals (THANK GOSH). Then we moved out Thursday and it was easily one of my least favorite things of my whole life. I don't know how I had SO much stuff in that little room, but I did. Our kitchen= REDIC. We had so many things stored in those cabinets that we didn't even know about. Thank the high heavens for my mommy and sisters coming up to help. Let's just say I'm glad thats over.
P.s. Unpacking almost sucks just as much.

As excited as I have been to move home and be in the sun, I am sad that it went by so fast. I was so lucky to live with my best friends. Everyone told us, "Don't do it! You'll regret it and not be friends after!" blablahblahblah, but guess what. It was such a good experience. And duh, we got sick of each other sometimes, but that happens with any room mates you'll ever have. I'm also proud to say... WE'RE ALL STILL BEST FRIENDS. Weird? Nooooot really to me. Pretty sure it's one of those things where if you want it to happen, it will. Just sayin.

What makes me sad is that I am realising that it's never gonna happen EVER again though. All of us living together, I mean. Ever. C is getting married. Morgan is the princess of St. George and loves it here. Me and Bucky are probably going to live together again though. It's just sad to thing it won't be possible for all 4 of us to live together again. EVER. But things change, we move on, and deal. It's part of life. I can't wait to see what is to come for all of us.

So goodbye freshman year and 312! Thanks for giving us so many good memories.

P.s.  YAY SUMMER

you have to know.

recently:
sooo we are moving out. in less than 2 weeks. it's crazy to think how fast time has gone. i can't believe i'm turning 20 this year. i can't believe i'm in college. i'm still having a hard time accepting that i'm old enough to drive(no seriously though), let alone be this grown up! haha who are we kidding here, i'm a 7 year old trapped in a 19 year old body, and it will probably always be that way. but you catch muh drift.. right?

my story:
(caution my dear loved ones: this gets kinda churchy and serious, so if you're not feelin that kind of thing, you should probably go back to stalking someone on fb)

a few weeks ago i was at work and it was really, really slow. this very lds looking fatherly figure of a man (we'll call him mr dad) came in by himself, and we got talking to each other. he asked where i was from, why i was here, etc. i told him i was attending UVU and he said his daughter was wanting to go there this coming fall and asked my opinion on the school.

side note: i'm soo used to people saying, how's college? do you like your school? blah, blah, blah, so i've come to just automatically saying this accidentally, recited answer, "it's so fun, i love it! uvu is a really good school!"

well today i felt different. i felt like saying exactly how i felt, since it has been on my mind a lot lately.
L: i like it. i've learned a lot, but its very liberal, which i'm not used to.
mr dad: that is what i have heard. what do you mean when you say liberal though?
L: its just very, opposite of every thing i ever learned. gay rights, very democratic etc. i feel like a lot of the professors try to secretly shove their thoughts and opinions in our heads.
mr dad: and how has that affected you?
L: i guess it's just made me become more open-minded. i've actually really liked getting to see different views people have. i guess you just have to know what you believe.
mr dad: well, it sounds like you know what you believe.

after he left, i kept thinking about what i had said. it was an unconscious answer, but it meant a lot to myself that i said that.

your first year away from home i think in a huge way, will  shape you into who you will be for the rest of college, maybe even life. or at least shape you into realizing how you want to be. if that makes sense.
its like, your parents have taught you every thing they could, and then they just set you free. its all up to you.
i'm not even gonna lie, its been so hard to wake up and go to church willingly, without my mom screaming at me from upstairs. i haven't been the best at it either, i definitely could have been better this year. but with that said, my testimony has been strengthened a lot this year.

-i've been making more money than i ever made at home working, and i have learned how important paying tithing is. i know how blessed we will be if we pay our tithing. it took me a while to realize how important it is, but i finally get it.

-i've also realized how important it is to be around people who lift you up. this is an obvious, and always has been to me, but it hit me really hard this school year how i can choose entirely who i want in my life. who will make me a better person. its hard sometimes, but it pays off to rid out the negativity in our lives and bad influences. or at least be around those people a lot less, and when we are, we should try to be that person that lifts them up.

-like i said, my school is liberal. especially since i'm a communications major. the professors are so talented and smart, they just have very strong opinions, and i love it. i really do, i love arguing, and people having different views, but its made me have to realize what i stand for. you can't just float along when you're around that kind of stuff, or else you'll drowned in something before you even realize it's got ahold of you. this one is a huge thing for me, for reasons people really close to me understand.

so all in all, this year has been successful. freshman year, you have been great to me. i have had soooo much fun. there is so many memories that i will NEVER forget. it has helped mold me as a person, in a very good way.
i know this is a lot of blabbing, but i just felt like i should write about it.
hope this encourages all of you to realize what you stand for, or want to stand for.

it's like that quote,
you have to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.

These are my friends. Aren't they cute? I'm so blessed I was able to live with them this year.  Obviously I'm a little biased... but pretty sure I have the best friends in the whole world.

My best friend is engaged. Like engaged where you fall in love with someone and they like it too, so they put a ring on it. Then you get married.

I'm so happy for them. This August, my best friend, Chantelle Simister, will for the rest of forever, be Chantelle Lambeth. AKA C-Lamb. (Cute huh? B-Lamb and C-Lamb)
They are meant for each other. I don't joke around when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'm picky about who my best friends like/love. ONLY because I know how amazing they are, know what they deserve.

We've been best friends since 7th grade. We've gone through our fair share of boys. Lame ones, hot ones, cocky ones, literally dumb ones, nice ones, rude ones.. well you get it. It was always fun, but we both knew they would never last forever..

Until Chan met Brett. It was this weird feeling, where like we all just kind of knew it was meant to be. Them breaking up never crossed any of our minds (which was rare). It just worked. And kept working. And obviously worked very well, because here we are today.
They even out each other soooo well. People always say that when you meet "the one" it will be like a puzzle, your other half, blah blah blah.. well guess what, IT'S TRUE. They are purrrrrfect together.

And by perfect, I mean perfect. Model status, both have such good personalities, pretty cars, love chicken breast and muscle milk, haha surrriously.

AND, I approve. Lexi Larsen stamp of approval. BAM. Which means a lot, I'm a toughy. Just sayin. (Ask Brett, he'll tell you haha it took a good couple months) But not only do I approve of Mr. Lambeth, but I feel as if I just gained another best friend. He fits in with our little group, like we've always known him.

Brett told me he was going to propose the morning he did it, and can I just say, IT WAS THE HARDEST THING TO ACT LIKE I HAD NO IDEA! I just wanted to hug Chan all day and tell her she was getting married, but obviously I couldn't. I did randomly hug her a few times though..
Brett came up with the cutest idea, and it ended up being perfect.
Chan had NO idea.

His obsession with the "Black Mamba" scares me sometimes. Me and Chan just care about Khloe and Lamar.

That is her TRUE reaction. It was the best.

What a beaut.

I am so happy for you guys, and know you will continue to make each other happy the rest of your lives. And I can't wait to be there for all of it! (including our frozen yogurt trips once a week, dead serious)

So much love,
LL
